💡 Tip of the Week: Rent Gadgets Instead of Buying Them
Most of us buy every gadget we want to use without considering any other option – but renting electronics instead of owning them can make a lot of sense, especially for the things you only need for a season, or the ones you're not 100% sure about. You get to test and use the thing without sinking a few hundred euros into something that loses half its value the day it arrives.
I came round to the idea when I rented a TV for a temporary apartment (once you start watching movies on a 64-inch screen, it's hard to go back to squinting at a laptop). The company I used was Grover*, and they rent out phones, laptops, TVs, cameras, gaming consoles, e-scooters and much more on flexible terms – you keep the item as long as you want, then send it back when you're done. If it breaks through normal use, you're covered, which takes some of the anxiety out of borrowing expensive tech. The minimum rental period depends on the item and can start from just one month, though committing to six months is usually a much better deal than one or three. And if you want to keep something, you can buy it out at the end, with your rental payments counting towards the price.

This one pairs nicely with the airfryer deal above (you can probably tell I'm writing this section hungry). Eismann is a company that specializes in frozen food, and new customers in Germany and Austria can get €15 off a first order with the code VORTEIL (advertisement) at checkout. The minimum order is €30, so it's a low-commitment way to try them out.
I ordered a few things from Eismann and my favorites were the frozen potato dishes* (I rarely have patience for cooking potatoes from scratch) and the vegetable mixes*, which are much better than what I find at supermarkets. If you've been in Germany a while, you're probably familiar with the country's love affair with cash and its general skepticism towards credit cards. Which is a shame, because a good free credit card is one of the easier ways to get a little something back on spending you'd do anyway – and the easybank Visa* is currently paying a €75 welcome bonus to new customers.
The card itself ticks the boxes I care about when choosing credit cards: no annual fee, no foreign transaction fee, and no fee for cash withdrawals, so it works just as well abroad as it does at home.
