One of the best things about writing this newsletter is that I keep finding deals I want to use myself. This article has two of them: a DKB account with a €200 bonus, and a BahnCard 25 for €29.99 for the whole year. Also among this week's highlights: an improved free trial on ClassPass (they are now giving you 15 free workouts!), new supermarket freebies, and the best cinema subscriptions that I found.

🎬 Tip of the Week: Unlimited Cinema from €15.55/Month
If you go to the cinema more than once a month, a cinema subscription works out cheaper than buying tickets. CINFINITY is the cheapest at €15.55/month plus a one-off €9.99 starting fee, and it's the only one you can cancel from month to month. Paying for a year up front is €177, which works out at €14.75/month with the starting fee waived. The network, however, is very small, so check the participating cinemas in your city before you sign up.
Cineville covers more locations at €20/month on the yearly plan, or €24/month on the shorter plan with a four-month minimum term, a €4.50 setup fee and monthly cancellation after that (€22/month if you're 25 or under). UCI Unlimited is €19.90/month on a three-month term or €17.90/month on a 12-month one, and paying the year up front costs €199, which brings it down to €16.58/month. It's the one to go for if you want the big releases on newer screens with better sound, though most of those will be dubbed into German.
Yorck Unlimited is €19.90/month on a 12-month term, valid in every Yorck cinema in Berlin and the City Kinos in Munich, and their programme leans arthouse with a lot of screenings in the original language with subtitles, which makes it the better option if dubbing isn't your thing. You also get 10% off snacks and off up to five companion tickets, and both discounts double in your second year.
To pick the right subscription for you, think about how long you're ready to commit and which cinemas you go to most often. From there on, you get to watch more films on a big screen instead of a laptop balanced on your knees – as Nolan intended.

🏋️ ClassPass: A Free Month with 15 Workouts
ClassPass* is running their best free trial I've seen so far: new users get a full month free with 15 workouts, instead of the previous 2 weeks with 62 credits. That's a whole month of training at boutique studios and gyms without paying anything, which is an amazing deal.
The trial covers one visit per studio, so treat it as an invitation to try as many different places as you can. Salons, spas and repeat visits at the same studio aren't included, and unused workouts expire when the month is up. ClassPass in Germany covers Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Cologne, Düsseldorf and Stuttgart.
After the trial, the subscription rolls onto the 42-credit plan at €59/month, but you can cancel any time before your trial ends to avoid getting charged. 🚆 BahnCard 25 for €29.99 for a Whole Year
This is one of the best BahnCard promotions I've come across: until September 30, the BahnCard 25* costs €29.99 for second class instead of €62.90, and €59.99 for first class instead of €125. Previous promos were usually on the 3-month Probe cards – a full 12 months at this price is much better value.
The card gives you 25% off Flexpreis and Sparpreis long-distance fares (City-Ticket excluded) and it's valid for one year from your chosen start date. At that discount, €29.99 pays for itself once you've bought around €120 of long-distance tickets over the year – which is one or two trips. You can buy it online*, in the DB Navigator app, at DB travel centers or DB agencies.

💶 Up to €200 from DKB
DKB* is offering up to €200 to new customers, and the conditions are some of the easiest I've seen on a bonus of this size – I'm even planning to take advantage of this promotion myself. You get €150 for opening a free Girokonto by September 15, and €50 more if you also open a Tagesgeld savings account by September 30, pay in at least €2,500 by October 7 and leave it there until November 30.
For the €150, you need to consent to promotional emails and receive two incoming payments of at least €1,000 each, in two consecutive calendar months after opening, completed by November 30. The nice part is that these don't have to be your salary: a transfer from an account you hold at another bank counts – only transfers from other DKB accounts in your own name are excluded. Moving €2,500 to a savings account for a couple of months is also very reasonable.
The account itself is free if you receive at least €700 a month or if you're under 28; otherwise it's €4.50 per month. A Visa debit card is included, with an optional Visa credit card for €2.49/month and a Girokarte for €0.99/month. There's also a 100 GB plan for €11.99 and a 250 GB one for €21.99. All plans include unlimited calls and texts, EU roaming and eSIM, and can be cancelled monthly. Outlet46 discounts up to 90%: I've just discovered this outlet and I'm stunned by the prices (in a good way) – most things are 63% to 90% off. It’s not the most fashionable clothing, but there are nice shoe brands in there like Vans* and Birkenstock*, and for functional basics you just can't beat the price. Examples: 20 pairs of Umbro socks* for €15.99, and Clarks leather ankle boots* for €24.99 instead of €109.99. Sizes are limited, as you'd expect from an outlet. Shop here*.
