Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days run today and tomorrow, so it's a good time to buy things that have been on your list for a while at a lower price. I personally always try to time my big purchases to those days! Also in this article: 15 free workouts with ClassPass, a streaming package with Netflix and Disney+ for €12.71 a month, and how to keep junk mail out of your mailbox.

📬 Tip of the Week: How to Stop Junk Paper Mail

If you've spent any time in Germany, you've probably noticed how much advertising ends up in your mailbox – and I mean your actual, physical letterbox, not your email inbox. Flyers, brochures, and offers you never signed up for can pile up fast, and it's easy to assume there's nothing you can do about it. There is: a few small steps will cut most of it out for good.

The easiest fix is a Keine Werbung sticker* on your mailbox – mine has brought the weekly flyer pile down to almost nothing. Most advertisers do respect it. If your mailbox is outdoors, spend a little extra on a UV-resistant version, since the cheaper stickers fade after a few months in the sun, and a faded sticker is easier to ignore.

That handles the unaddressed flyers, but you'll still get advertising with your name on it. To stop most of that, add yourself to the lists that let you opt out of addressed mail advertising. It's worth signing up for both the DDV list and the Robinson list to cover as many senders as possible.

If a stubborn advertiser keeps going after all that, the Appmelder app does the chasing for you – you report the offender, they handle the unsubscribing, and if the mail still doesn't stop, they'll send a formal legal warning (an Abmahnung) on your behalf. It's completely free. If you only do one thing from this list, make it the sticker – it does most of the work. Get a mailbox sticker here*.

🏋️ ClassPass: A Free Month with 15 Workouts

New ClassPass* users can currently get a full month free with 15 workouts, up from the usual 10, which is the best free trial I've seen them run so far. That's a whole month of training at studios and gyms, including some high-end ones that charge €30 per class, for free.

Each studio can be visited once, so treat the trial as an invitation to try as many different places as you can. If you want to go back to a studio you liked or use ClassPass for massages, saunas or beauty treatments, you can buy extra credits for that. Any workouts you haven't used expire when the month is up. ClassPass in Germany covers Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Cologne, Düsseldorf and Stuttgart.

After the trial, the subscription rolls onto the 42-credit plan at €59/month, but you can cancel any time before it ends – ClassPass sends a reminder email beforehand, so it won't catch you by surprise. If you want the full breakdown of how credits, plans and pricing work, check out my detailed guide to ClassPass in Germany. I started with a free trial over two years ago and have been using it ever since. Sign up for your free trial here*.
